Ah, summer. What a explandid time of the year. I don´t know about you but I always like to link what I am doing to the aesthetic of the place, season, everything. Maybe because I am a taurus rising... or maybe because I am a sucker for aesthetics. Independently, I am going to share with you all the books that give me thar summery vibe.

Was this an obvious choice? Maybe. Do I care? No. This is my favourite book of all time and I simply could not make a list of summer books without this one. If you live under a rock and does not know what this book is, I will gladly tell you: it is a love story, a romance book written by André Aciman. The story is set during the summer of 83 in Northern Italy. I don't want to give too much away but, it's an amazing book that deserves a read, even if you already watched the movie.
This book has the most compelling atmosphere. The plot is: a writer who decides to buy a villa in Tuscany after a hurtful divorce. The book has a very summery feeling to it. It deserves the read. If you're feeling extremely lazy you can watch the movie but the book is a masterpiece that deserves it´s own credit.
Ok, I'll admit maybe I am a bit obcessed with Italy. But can you blame me? If I can't live this dreamy european summer, I must read about it. Love & Gelato is a delicious book about a girl who lost her mother recently and her last wish was that her daughter Lina spent sometime in Italy and discovered more about her father and her life when she was living there. This is a book about love, family drama and obviously gelato. Very easy and light reading for your relaxing summer.
4. Beach Read
I am kind of obsessed with this book, in the most healthy way. Maybe it's because I am a writer... well, you'll understand what I mean. This book is about January and Augustus. She writes love stories, as a romance writer she is, and he writes about killing the whole cast. As the fictional novelist he is. But thing they have is common is: living during the summer in neighboring beach houses, and having writer block. So they plan to help each-other on the writing and other stuff if you know what I mean. Well this is exceptionally well written and you'll definitely fall in love with the characters just as I did.
To end this "to read" list on a very high note, it's not me who is going to recommend a book it's the one and only Mr. Harry Styles. Yes. He openly stated that he loves this book and is a great fan of the author. This book isn't here just because Harry said it was good. Would it be enough? Yes. But I am giving you one more reason. It's my personal belief that we should always be growing to be better people but the summer is the moment where you can lay down with your book and think about what you want to change and it could be, specially the way you love. In this book Alain teaches that loving someone and growing a relationship with them does not come naturally it is a skill. So take the time to read his book and think about your past and future romantic relationships.
